Everything in Recka

Every feature, in one place

Most apps stop at a scheduler. Recka pairs a modern one with a study coach that tells you what to work on, catches bad cards, and keeps you from falling behind.

The engine

A scheduler you can trust

The part every flashcard app has, done properly. Recka runs a modern FSRS scheduler that models each card’s own forgetting curve and surfaces things right before you’d lose them.

Modern FSRS scheduler

The current state-of-the-art spaced-repetition algorithm, not decades-old SM-2. It predicts when each card is about to slip and schedules it then. Fewer reviews for the same recall.

Exam Sprint, per deck

Set an exam date on a deck and Recka tightens every interval so each card gets several reps before the day, then studies weakest-first. Turn it off and normal scheduling resumes.

Study coaching

Know exactly where you stand

The scheduler tells you what’s due. This is everything Recka does with what it learns about you, the parts most apps leave out.

A queue that knows your exam

Weak, high-yield cards you’ll actually be tested on rise to the top; anything that wouldn’t come due until after the exam drops down. Not just what’s due, but what matters most, right now.

An honest readiness score

One 0-100 number per exam, built from how much you’ve covered, how well you’re recalling it, and how many topics are still weak. It tells you whether you’re on track, or kidding yourself.

Weak topics, not just due cards

Every topic gets a mastery score separate from what’s due, so a topic you “finished” can still surface as weak. Recka ranks them weakest-and-most-important first.

Recall vs. actually applying it

Log the practice questions you get wrong and Recka catches the gap most tools miss: topics you can recall on a flashcard but keep failing when you have to use them.

A forecast that stops you drowning

See how many reviews land each day this week, plus a recommended new-card limit so you never bury next week’s self. Already over capacity? Recka tells you to ease off.

Rescue mode for falling behind

Instead of a wall of 400 overdue cards, tell Recka how much time you’ve got. It builds a realistic catch-up session, or spreads the backlog across a few days, so you’re never underwater.

Card quality

Write better cards, keep fewer leeches

Good scheduling can’t save a bad card. Recka helps you write ones that actually stick, and flags the ones quietly eating your time.

Card-quality coach

As you write, Recka flags cards built to fail you: a prompt cramming five facts, a cloze hiding three deletions, or an answer that’s really a list. Then it watches your history for leeches. Every flag is a suggestion, never an auto-edit.

Rich, distraction-free editor

A clean WYSIWYG editor with bold, italic, colour, highlight and lists. No visible markup to fight with, and formatting that behaves the way you expect between cards.

Cloze without the code

Make cloze deletions inline with a keystroke, no typing {{c1::…}} by hand. Basic, reverse and cloze cards all live in the same editor.

Markdown & images

Write with lightweight markdown and drop images straight into a card. Everything renders the same in the editor and in review.

Everyday flow

Fast, organised, out of your way

Decks & folders, your way

Organise decks into nested folders, and give any deck or folder a name-based monogram, an emoji, or your own cover image, so your library is scannable at a glance.

One-click Anki import

Bring your existing decks across in a single step. Your cards and scheduling history come with you, no starting from scratch.

Keyboard-first review

Rate, flip and move through a session entirely from the keyboard. Recka is built for people who study fast and often.

Instant undo

Misrated a card? Undo it immediately. No dialog, no digging through history. One keystroke and it’s back.

Stats & review heatmap

A calm dashboard shows your streak, workload and progress over time, so momentum is visible instead of guessed at.

Light, dark & system

A warm, considered theme in light or dark, or set it to follow your system automatically. Recka stays easy on the eyes for long sessions.

Local-first

Yours, and offline by default

Your library lives on your machine first. Nothing you study depends on a connection.

100% offline

Your decks, cards and progress work with no connection at all. Study on a plane, in a basement, anywhere. The algorithm runs entirely on your device.

Backup & sync when you’re ready

Come back online and everything syncs quietly in the background and stays backed up in the cloud, so you can move between devices without missing a beat.

Automatic updates

New features and fixes arrive on their own. Recka keeps itself up to date, so you’re always on the latest without lifting a finger.
